The Power of Intrigue

Inform? That’s Job 2. Job 1 is to Intrigue.

You and I only get a few moments to make an initial impression. And we often waste the opportunity by trying to say too much.

We introduce ourselves by telling. Or selling. When we should go for compelling. And that means opening with a little bit of intrigue.

“Hi, I’m Charles Tunah, and I support IT services for Whackadoodle Enterprises on a global scale.”

Yawn. I tuned out at “support IT services.” Boring and blah.

“Hi, I’m Charles, and I once caused a worldwide meltdown of a mission-critical network.”

All right, now you have my FULL attention. What in the world happened? Who in the world ARE you? Tell me more…

Mission accomplished. Now I have an open door to explain, inform, tell a story, and start a real conversation.

This also works for sales pitches. For public presentations. Even for Zoom meetings.

When I do Clarity sessions with people, the first deliverable is the clear, concise, “inform” statements. But we don’t stop there. Then we move to compelling introductions and show-stopping taglines for your LinkedIn profile.

Because you only a few moments. Clarity wins - with a touch of intrigue.
