What’s The Difference?
Five years ago, I published Clarity Wins. This year, my new book The Point comes out.
Some reviewers (and podcasters) have been asking, "What's the difference between these two?"
Good question. In brief, here's the answer:
Clarity Wins is written for those seeking to create a differentiating brand message - either as a company, a consultant, or a career professional. The central message is this: you're going to be pigeonholed in the minds of others, so create the words by which you want to be remembered. That's what gets you referred by others.
Define your niche and let other people know your professional value, in brief, vivid, and memorable language.
Good branding requires clarity, and clarity...wins!
The Point is based on the same basic principles - we live in a noisy world and have to rise above it by using words in a "brain-friendly," effective manner - but the scope is actually bigger. Much bigger.
This book contains a practical formula (4 rules, 8 tools) that anyone can apply, for all forms of communication.
This is a handbook for any or all of the 8 billion humans on the planet to improve the way they design their communications. Outward-facing and inward-facing comms. Because I train business people how to be great at using words that win.
While my primary target market will probably remain business leaders, the principles and practices contained in The Point are timeless and universal.
We are all communication designers (good or bad). The Clarity formula can make anyone great at it.
Both books are brief, approachable, and full of actionable suggestions. They are based on decades of professional experience communicating in just about every format.
The principles and practices in these books are the basis for my keynotes and workshops to upskill professionals.
Let me know how I can help you
(and your team) win at communication!
